Brad Goodell
A New Mexico native, Brad studied art at the University of New Mexico and the Colorado Institute of Art. Brad began working as a commercial illustrator in 1984, specializing in book and magazine covers. His illustration work has been recognized by the New York Society of Illustrators, selecting him for the Museum of American Illustration show and their Illustration Annual publication highlighting the top American illustrators in 1995. Other awards include the International Council of Airshows where he was awarded the best airshow poster of 1992, the Communications Arts Illustration annual in their 40th Illustration Annual highlighting the best American illustrators of 1999, the ADDY Awards where he was awarded over 30 national and regional awards, and the Dallas Society of Illustrators.
Moving to southwestern Colorado in 2002 allowed Brad to shift away from commercial illustration and focus on other artistic endeavors, including glass engraving and wood block and linoleum block printing. His most recognizable work includes five large murals spread across the Four Corners depicting the rich industry of the American West. His signature style takes inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of the Four Corners region along with its rich heritage of builders, creators, and craftsmen.
Brad now lives with his wife and 2 cats in the mountains of southwestern Colorado near Mesa Verde National Park.
